Liam Cooper has revealed that Leeds United will be working during Christmas to prepare for their game against Wigan Athletic on Boxing Day.

Leeds are 18th in the league table on 24 points and the players and the manager know that three points against Wigan, who are second from bottom, is crucial for the club during the festive period.

So Cooper is not complaining about working during Christmas as he said that as footballers their job is to entertain the fans.

Cooper is hoping that the extra work will pay off against the Latics.

"It’s an entertainment industry”, Cooper told the club’s official site.

“We’ll be training Christmas Day and then we’ll get a bit of time with our families before we go and stay in the hotel on the night.

"We’ll watch the video on them, on Christmas Day probably, and the manager and the assistant will discuss how we’re going to go.”

Although Wigan are second from bottom, Cooper is aware that there are no easy games in the Championship and insisted Leeds need to be at their best to beat the Latics.

"I think anybody would say in this league that there’s no easy game", he said. "We’ll certainly approach it in the right way."
