Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is taking decisive action to secure the signature of Lukas Podolski from Arsenal.

The Nerazzurri have reached an agreement with Podolski, who is happy to head to the San Siro next month, but still need to do a deal with Arsenal, having not yet opened talks with the Gunners.

The Italian giants will do that today as Ausilio has flown to England to attend Arsenal's Boxing Day clash against QPR, according to Sky Italia.

Following the match he will hold talks with Arsenal officials over securing Podolski, likely on loan, for the rest of the campaign.

Ausilio is anticipating tough talks, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reluctant to lose Podolski.

The Frenchman does however accept that Podolski is frustrated with a lack of playing time at the Emirates Stadium this term, something moving to Inter would remedy.
