Unlike other foreign managers, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is fond of the busy festive season fixture list.

The unique nature of England’s festive season fixtures is not unknown to the Argentine, who also tackled the busy period when he was the Southampton boss.

Now at Tottenham, Pochettino is charged with preparing his team for a tough run of games starting with Leicester today.

But the Argentine is not complaining and is aware of football’s role in making the festive season even more special for the English football fans.

He also added that this family understands the demands of a Premier League manager during this period and insisted that he enjoys the challenge, which is unique to English football.

“It’s different to Spain or Argentina, but we enjoy it”, Pochettino told the club’s official site..

“We’re happy to be here, looking forward to the Boxing Day game and then New Year back at our stadium in front of all the families.

“You realise that it’s a special moment and a special atmosphere that you can only feel in England.

“My family understand that this is a moment to enjoy, maybe in a different way to Spain or Argentina. It’s a nice moment to be together. Football is there to be enjoyed.”

After tackling Leicester, Spurs will host Manchester United and Chelsea in two back-to-back big games on Sunday and New Year’s Day respectively.
