Victor Valdes is expected to finally sign for a club next month, with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain shaping up to fight for the Spaniard.

The shot-stopper has been without a club since leaving Barcelona at the end of last season. He had been due to sign for Monaco, but a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered in March scuppered his plans.

Valdes has been training with Manchester United, but is thought to be reluctant to play understudy to David de Gea by signing for the Red Devils.

Indeed, according to Madrid-based daily Marca, Valdes is more attracted to two other suitors – Liverpool and PSG.

It remains to be seen where Valdes will end up, but he is thought to be keen to resolve his future soon.
