Crystal Palace have axed manager Neil Warnock following yesterday's 3-1 defeat to Southampton at Selhurst Park.

The defeat sent shockwaves through the Palace boardroom, with the club having won only once in their last 12 games, and losing to the Saints was the final straw.

Warnock has been removed from his post with immediate effect and Palace will now commence the search for a new manager.

Warnock had been in his second spell at the Eagles and was hoping to strengthen his squad substantially next month.
