Mario Balotelli could well be on his way out of Liverpool next month after his agent Mino Raiola started to search for a new club for his client.

The striker, who joined Liverpool in the summer from AC Milan for £16m, was left on the bench throughout the Reds' 1-0 win over Burnley yesterday, veteran Rickie Lambert being preferred as a substitute in his stead.

Balotelli now appears to have little future at Anfield, despite only having been bought by manager Brendan Rodgers in the summer as part of a £100m plus spending spree.

And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Balotelli's agent Raiola is looking for an escape route for his client.

Raiola has been speaking with one of Balotelli's former clubs in Inter, but the Serie A side have so far been cool on re-signing the Italy international.

It remains to be seen if any sides choose to offer Balotelli an exit from Anfield next month, but Sampdoria have been linked with making a move to sign him on loan.
