Manchester United defender Phil Jones is delighted with the developing strike partnership between Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie.

Both have been in good form of late and Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal selected the pair against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane today.

Neither could score as the match ended 0-0, but Jones was impressed with what he saw from the pair, believing their understanding is consistently improving, which is good news for Manchester United.

"I thought Falcao and Robin were terrific today", Jones told MUTV.

"They held the ball up well, they linked up well but it just wasn’t our day in front of goal", he added.

Manchester United will hope Falcao and Van Persie can rediscover their scoring boots at the Britannia Stadium on New Year's Day against Stoke City.
