Leigh Griffiths has stressed that Celtic cannot afford to miss out on maximum points from the games that they dominate.

After eight successive league victories, the festive season has not brought much cheer for Scotland’s league leaders.

A defeat at Dundee United earlier this month followed by a 0-0 draw against Ross County at home on Saturday have dampened the mood around Celtic Park.

Griffiths believes Celtic were the more dominant team against Ross County, but was disappointed that they managed only a point at home.

He added that Celtic cannot continue to dominate games but not achieve the desired result. Griffiths believes the Glasgow derby against Partick Thistle on Thursday is a good opportunity for the club to bounce back

“We dominated the game from start to finish and when we are dominant like that we need to win”, the striker told the club’s official site.

“They came here to frustrate us and they certainly did that, but we will bounce back and will look forward to Partick Thistle away.

“The lads were disappointed. We can’t keep controlling games and not win them, but we are back in training and looking forward to Thursday.”
