Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has told Morgan Schneiderlin's suitors that they can forget about buying the midfielder in next month's transfer window.

The France international was chased by both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur over the summer, but Southampton were unwilling to sell after losing a number of key players.

Schneiderlin stayed put at St. Mary's and has been a strong performer as the Saints have surprised the Premier League; they currently sit fourth at present.

It has been suggested Arsenal and Tottenham could rekindle their interest in Schneiderlin in the new year.

But Koeman is clear that he is not in the market to sell his stars.

Asked about potential sales next month, Koeman told a press conference: "I think only to bring players and not to lose players.

"We don't sell players in January."

Schneiderlin will not have the chance to further underline his credentials in front of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger tomorrow when Southampton host the Gunners due to suspension.
