Lille have received a new offer of €6m from Liverpool for Divock Origi’s early release in January – but will only allow him to leave if they can find a replacement.

The Reds snapped up the Belgian international last summer and immediately loaned him back to Lille for the season according to the terms of their agreement.

But Liverpool have been struggling for goals this term and injury to Daniel Sturridge, coupled with Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert’s failure to pose a consistent threat in the opposition’s penalty box have forced the club to look for other options.

And despite the player's father, Mike Origi’s denials, Liverpool are in negotiations with Lille for an early release in the winter transfer window for the striker.

They made a €4m bid last week to bring Origi to Anfield this month, which seems to have been rejected by Lille.

But Liverpool are desperate to add another striking option to their ranks and have upped the ante with another bid of €6m, according to French radio station RMC.

The player is keen to leave for England and Lille are also ready to accept the new bid from the Reds provided they are able to sign a replacement for the Belgian this month.
