Newcastle United have seen an offer to loan M'Baye Niang rejected by AC Milan, though there are expected to be new developments concerning the 20-year-old soon.

Niang wants regular playing time for the second half of the campaign and Newcastle, along with Udinese, have set their sights on the winger-cum-forward.

According to Sky Italia, Newcastle contacted AC Milan to ask to take Niang on loan.

But the Rossoneri were not keen on the Magpies' proposal and rejected it.

AC Milan are thought to be willing to loan Niang out, but only for a substantial fee.

Neither Newcastle nor Udinese are ready to meet the Rossoneri's demands at present, but Niang is still set to hold further talks with AC Milan over his future.

The 20-year-old has clocked up just 28 minutes of football for AC Milan so far this season.
