Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has described their next Champions League opponents Shakhtar Donetsk as more dangerous opposition than Arsenal.

The Bavarian giants qualified for the Champions League round of 16 after only their first four group games. They ultimately finished with five wins and a solitary loss to Manchester City to top their group ahead of their English opponents.

The German outfit dominated their group, which included AS Roma and CSKA Moscow along with the English champions; Robben contributed with two goals and one assist in the group matches.

Bayern Munich have been drawn to play Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk in the next round of the Champions League.

In an interview with the club site, when asked if the Ukrainians will be easy opponents, Robben described them to be far more dangerous than Arsenal.

Bayern Munich have knocked out Arsenal in the Champions League round of 16 in the last two editions of the event.

“No, it’s dangerous! We could have got Juventus, Arsenal or PSG, but Shakhtar are more dangerous because we know so little about them.

“I know we won’t beat them just by turning up.

"We have two finals.

"If we want to go through, we’ll have to give it everything”, he concluded.

Robben will look to continue his stellar form that has seen him score ten goals and provide three assists in the Bundesliga this season, when the Champions League resumes in February.
