Manchester United starlet Ben Pearson has joined League One outfit Barnsley on a month-long loan deal.

Named the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year in 2013, the 20-year-old midfielder is a highly-rated talent at Old Trafford.

Known for his tenacious tackling and box-to-box action, Pearson is a regular in the club’s Under-21 set-up, but is yet to break into the first team.

He will spend the next month at Danny Wilson’s Barnsley team, who are 17th in the League One table and are trying to stay away from a relegation scrap.
