Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger put a stop to Yaya Sanogo's proposed loan move to Bordeaux because he dislikes the club's president Jean-Louis Triaud, it has been claimed.

Bordeaux have been keen on snapping up Sanogo on loan for the rest of the season and the 21-year-old is open to returning to France to link up with Willy Sagnol's men.

Sagnol claims Sanogo has done everything at his end to make the deal happen, but it has been scuppered by Wenger preferring to loan him out to another Premier League club, Crystal Palace in pole position.

Sagnol said at a press conference yesterday: "He did everything to come. We've thanked him, but his coach prefers England and that must be respected."

However, it has been suggested by a L'Equipe journalist that Wenger blocked Sanogo joining Bordeaux due to his dislike for the club's president Triaud.

Wenger has done business with Bordeaux before, taking Sylvain Wiltord and Marouane Chamakh from the French club in 2000 and 2010 respectively.

However, the Gunners had to wait for Chamakh's contract to expire after Triaud rejected several bids from Arsenal to take the player, forcing Wenger to sit tight until the following summer.
