Radamel Falcao could leave Manchester United in the winter transfer window and join Real Madrid, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The Colombian superstar was dropped from the playing squad by Louis van Gaal for Manchester United’s clash against Southampton last weekend, as the Dutchman preferred other options.

The player, who arrived at Old Trafford on loan from Monaco last summer, is believed to be unhappy and his agent Jorge Mendes did say yesterday that Falcao might leave the club at the end of the season.

Manchester United are not believed to be overly impressed with the Colombian’s performance since his arrival and are believed to be ready to terminate his loan agreement to send him back to Monaco this month.

Mendes is alive to the situation and has already held talks with Real Madrid in the case that the Red Devils decide to cut short the loan agreement in the winter transfer window.

Real Madrid are ready to welcome Falcao to the Bernabeu this month, but want him to lower his wages and want Monaco to lower their financial demands, should they want to make the move permanent this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Van Gaal decides to give Falcao more opportunities to prove his worth at Old Trafford or the Colombian leaves the club to join Real Madrid this month.
