Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has revealed that the club are yet to reach a final agreement with Everton over a deal for Samuel Eto’o, but said that everything is moving in the right direction.

The veteran forward is expected to leave Everton this month and has already agreed personal terms with the Italian outfit.

Eto’o is expected to be at Sampdoria today to undergo a medical before he signs on the dotted line with the club.

But Ferrero said that the deal is not done yet as they are yet to reach a conclusive agreement with Everton for the striker’s services.

However, the Sampdoria president is optimistic and said that everything is moving in the right direction for Eto’o to join the club soon.

“Everything is good and it only needs the final agreement with Everton”, Ferrero told Rai Sport.

“I met Eto’o, he really is a champion.”

Sampdoria are fourth in Serie A and they will be expecting Eto’o to help them in their quest for Champions League football.
