Saint-Etienne defender Loic Perrin has conceded that Arsenal are yet to resume talks after making initial contact with him earlier this month.

The 29-year-old central defender has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and the player himself said earlier this month that the Gunners were in contact with him.

Though Saint-Etienne are not keen on losing their influential captain, it is believed that a bid of around €8m will be enough to convince them to sanction Perrin’s sale.

Arsenal are in the market to sign a commanding centre half in the winter transfer window and the Frenchman features prominently on their shortlisted targets, although Arsene Wenger claims recently they are not actively on his tail.

The player admits that the Gunners are yet to resume talks and he is unaware of the exact status of the transfer saga for the moment.

“Right now, we are talking a little less [about the transfer]”, Perrin told Al Jazeera Sport.

“I do not know where we are with it as I have not heard [from Arsenal]”, confessed the French defender.
