Marco Verratti’s agent has indicated that his client cannot be treated as a bargaining chip by Paris Saint-Germain to snare Manchester United target Paul Pogba from Juventus.

Like Pogba, Verratti is also one of the most talented young midfielders in European football and at 22, is an established member of Laurent Blanc’s PSG squad.

PSG hold a long-term interest in Pogba, but are also aware that due to financial fair play regulations they cannot get in to a bidding war with Manchester United and Real Madrid in the summer for the Frenchman.

Therefore, the club are assessing other options and it has been claimed that the French champions are planning to use Verratti as bait to tempt Juventus into selling Pogba.

However, the player’s agent, Donato Di Campli, reacted strongly to the speculation and said that he won’t allow anyone to use his client as a bargaining tool to sign other players.

“With all due respect to Pogba, Marco cannot be a bargaining chip for anyone”, Di Campli told Tele Radio Stereo 92.7.

“If one day, someone decides to knock on PSG's door, then they will only do so to get Verratti.

“One cannot think about involving Verratti in negotiations involving other players.”
