Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is open to joining Italian giants Inter Milan in the January transfer window.

Inter are trying to convince Liverpool into sanction the Brazilian’s sale this month and it has been claimed that they have already made a €10m bid for the player.

Though initially reluctant about selling the midfielder, Inter’s bid for the 28-year-old is making the Reds think twice before rejecting it.

Lucas played a crucial role in Liverpool’s recent run of form after struggling to get into Brendan Rodgers' side during the initial stages of the season.

Now according to Sportitalia, the midfielder himself is considering his future at Anfield and has communicated to Inter that he is available in the January transfer window.

Though playing an important role at Liverpool for the moment, Lucas feels his time at the club is nearing its end and he is looking for a fresh set of challenges in his career.

Roberto Mancini is a fan of the midfielder and it is believed that Lucas would have a prominent role to play in the Italian’s Inter team.

After failing to land Mario Suarez from Atletico Madrid, Mancini is keen on getting a deal done for the 28-year-old Brazilian this month.
