Manchester City custodian Willy Caballero has insisted that every trophy is crucial for his team in order to "build something important."

The Citizens will host Championship outfit Middlesbrough in an FA Cup fourth round tie on Saturday and the 33-year-old hopes that his side can come out victors from the match in order to extend their cup run.

A win would also take them one step closer to a final at the Wembley, putting them into the last 16 of the tournament, just two wins away from a visit to the famous stadium.

And for the former Malaga player, it will be yet another incentive to look for a win against Boro this weekend.

“Every trophy is important to us and we know that if we can beat Middlesbrough on Saturday, we will already be in the last 16 of the FA Cup", Caballero told his club's official site.

“This is a trophy we have done very well in over the past three or four years, winning the cup, reaching the final and making the quarter-finals in the past four years."

The Sky Blues are playing in three competitions simultaneously at the moment, namely the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup and the Argentine insists on taking one game at a time to ensure progress in all three competitions.

"I think we are doing fine in the three competitions, but our thinking is to go step by step, game by game.

"Our aim is always to win the next game, not matter what competition or what team we are playing against. That's the way to build something important."
