Lucas Silva’s father has revealed that negotiations with Real Madrid regarding a move for his son to the Bernabeu are back on track.

Real Madrid and Cruzeiro officials were locked in furious negotiations last month over Silva, but the European champions were reluctant to meet an asking price of €15m.

It has been claimed that Arsenal are prepared to pay Cruzeiro the figure they are demanding for the young Brazilian, but the player only wants to move to Real Madrid.

Speculation surrounding Silva has tailed off in the last few weeks, however the player’s father, Miguel Vieira, has said that Real Madrid have again started negotiations with Cruzeiro for Silva’s signature.

However, he indicated Cruzeiro are not going to lower their asking price of €15m for the midfielder.

“Luiz Rocha [Silva’s agent] called me today and told me that negotiations with Real Madrid are back under way, but he didn’t give me any more details”, Vieira told Superesportes.

“There was a meeting between the club and the agent and the value remains the same.”
