Former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt is preparing to snub Premier League interest in order to return to his native Netherlands in the summer.

Kuyt is out of contract at Turkish giants Fenerbahce at the end of the season and has already resolved to leave Istanbul.

Former club Feyenoord, where he remains a cult hero, have been linked with making a move to sign him. But Kuyt also has interest from the Premier League, where both Sunderland and Southampton are suitors.

However, according to Dutch broadcaster RTV Rijnmond, Kuyt is set on heading back to Feyenoord, where he hopes to play out his career.

Kuyt though is yet to be contacted by his former club, where technical director Martin van Geel is already plotting summer signings.

The Dutchman enjoyed a prolific spell with Feyenoord before leaving the club to sign for Liverpool in 2006, becoming a firm fan favourite.

The 34-year-old, who will turn 35 before the start of the 2015/16 campaign, notched 71 Eredivisie goals in 101 games for the Rotterdam side.
