Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has expressed his delight on opening his Premier League goal tally for the season with his strike against Aston Villa in their last league outing.

The Italian, who spent last season on loan to Sunderland, returned to Anfield at the start of the current season and has made an appearance in their last four Premier League fixtures.

In his 14 appearances with Liverpool in all competitions this season thus far, Borini has provided two assists along with his solitary strike.

Talking to the club site, Borini expressed his happiness on getting chances to show his worth.

"I am enjoying playing and I can give my help to the team with goals, performances and hard work. It's enjoyable.

"When you're out [of the team] for a long time and you get a little bit [of action], you get a taste and want to be involved in every game and try to score.”

The 23-year-old made clear his intentions of scoring more goals as the season progresses.

“That's what gives me the passion – you get a little bit and you want more. I'm a player that always wants to play, even if I only had one leg!"

Borini will look to be on target yet again when Liverpool host Bolton Wanderers in their fourth round FA Cup tie tomorrow.
