Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian midfielder Douglas Costa has insisted that he wants to leave the Ukrainian club and join Chelsea, sending out a come-and-get-me plea to the English giants.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and AC Milan last summer, but no approach was made from either of the clubs and Costa stayed put at Shakhtar Donetsk, as troubles errupted in the Ukraine, resulting in the club needing to move to play their games in Lviv.

However, it has been speculated that Chelsea are interested in signing Costa and the Blues are rumoured to be ready to pay a transfer fee of around €20m to get their man this month.

The Brazilian admits that he has always dreamed about joining Chelsea and has pleaded with Shakhtar Donetsk to let him go this month.

“I have been here for five years but joining Chelsea is my dream”, Costa told Brazilian daily Globoesporte.
