Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that striker Daniel Sturridge will be fit to face West Ham in the Premier League on 31st January, while holding out the tantalising hope he may be involved against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Sturridge has stepped up his rehabilitation from injury, with a series of blows having kept him sidelined since August, and is due to start full training with his team-mates on Sunday.

The Reds are looking forward to having the England striker back in action and Rodgers feels he will certainly be ready to be involved against West Ham next weekend.

And the Liverpool manager has vowed to assess Sturridge for Tuesday's League Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea, with the tie balanced at 1-1 following the first leg.
