Jose Mourinho insists he does not blame himself for Chelsea's shock 4-2 home defeat to League One side Bradford City today in the FA Cup, claiming he warned his players what could happen even at 2-1 up at half time.

The Blues took the lead through defender Gary Cahill in the 21st minute at Stamford Bridge, with Brazilian midfielder Ramires then doubling their advantage in the 38th minute.

But Chelsea were dealt a blow and Bradford handed a lifeline when Jon Stead cracked in an 18-yard shot in the 41st minute, putting the visitors back in it.

And Bradford built on their lead, first levelling through Felipe Morais, before further goals from Andy Halliday and Mark Yeates had Chelsea reeling.

The Premier League leaders had no answer and slipped to a shock FA Cup exit. And Mourinho says he prepared his charges in the right way, also warning them of the danger Bradford posed.

Mourinho told the BBC: "I don't feel so upset with myself because I did my work properly.

"I thought I prepared my players.

"At half-time I told them exactly what could happen. Obviously I am also responsible for that, but the reality is that this happens a lot of times in this country.

"Never to me. It is the first time it happens with me in English football. I can feel really happy for them. I was in that dressing room but at the same time I use the same word I used yesterday. It is a disgrace we were knocked out", he added.

For Chelsea, the dream of winning the four major trophies on offer this term is now officially over.
