Juan Mata admits he cannot get over the atmosphere at Old Trafford for Manchester United's 3-0 win over Liverpool in December.

The Spaniard signed for Manchester United from Chelsea a year ago this month and has flourished under new boss Louis van Gaal, who is a firm fan of his talents.




Mata is loving life at the Red Devils and details Old Trafford and the atmosphere at the ground as one of his particular highlights.

 


And the Liverpool encounter, in which he played all 90 minutes and scored his side's second goal, is fresh in his mind.

"It's just the feeling of playing here", he told his club's site, reflecting on the highlights of being a Manchester United player.

"The atmosphere against Liverpool a few weeks ago was unbelievable.

"The moment we walked on to the pitch, you felt that this was an incredible game and realised that millions of people were following it", Mata added.

The Spaniard is doing his bit to help drive Manchester United's push to finish in the Premier League's top four this term and as a result return to the Champions League.

Mata has clocked up 20 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United this season so far, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
