Arsene Wenger's trusted Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi was spotted at Lyon's Ligue 1 clash against Metz earlier today.

Grimandi, who turned out as a player for Arsenal between 1997 and 2002, winning two Premier League titles and two FA Cups, is the club's chief scout in France and regularly advises Wenger on player recruitment.

The 44-year-old was present today as Lyon brushed past Metz 2-0 at the Stade Gerland, with goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso.

Arsenal have regularly been linked with a number of Lyon players, goalscorer Lacazette just one of those thought to be on their radar.

Another Arsenal target who also turned out is Maxime Gonalons, who completed 90 minutes in the heart of midfield.

Lyon currently sit top of the Ligue 1 table with 48 points from 22 games.
