The agent of Radamel Falcao admits he would love for his client to be playing under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and claimed he does not understand the current situation at Old Trafford.

Falcao is on a season-long loan at Manchester United from Monaco, but has struggled to cement a regular spot in the side, with manager Louis van Gaal challenging the Colombian to prove himself worthy of a permanent deal.

Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes feels his client is world class and is sure if Manchester United do not snap him up then another leading club will.

And Mendes feels that the legendary Ferguson, who stood down as Manchester United manager in 2013, would have appreciated his client.

"I would have loved it if Falcao had been coached by Sir Alex Ferguson", Mendes was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

"He is a player who has to play 90 minutes and I do not understand the current situation."

The Colombia international has made 13 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

Falcao has stated his desire to remain at Manchester United on a permanent basis, but the Red Devils would have to splash out around £40m to keep him at Old Trafford.
