Italian giants Roma are the latest club looking closely at prolific Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The French hitman has been pulling up trees in Ligue 1 this season, with his 21st goal in 22 French top flight games earlier today against Metz.

Lacazette's performance was taken in by Arsenal's chief scout in France, the Gunners having been continually linked with Lacazette, along with another English side in the shape of Liverpool.

Now, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, Roma are now also paying close attention to the striker's feats with Lyon, having been impressed with his performances in Ligue 1.

Lyon have ruled out selling Lacazette this month and the striker himself is also in no mood to call time to his spell with Les Gones mid-season.

However, a transfer scrap promises to break out for the forward in the summer, involving several clubs.

Lacazette is under contract at the Stade Gerland until 2018.
