Sassuolo will not part with striker Leonardo Pavoletti before the final day of the winter transfer window on 2nd February.

Pavoletti is being chased by a number of clubs, including Leeds United, but has most recently been linked with Gianfranco Zola's Cagliari, who are looking to increase their firepower for the second half of the season.

But according to Sky Italia, Sassuolo will not entertain parting with Pavoletti, believing they may need to call upon him on 1st February, when they take on Inter in Serie A.

Pavoletti has clocked up nine appearances for Sassuolo in Serie A this season, scoring once.

The striker has regularly warmed the bench for the Serie A side in recent weeks, but was brought off the bench against Zola's Cagliari this weekend, a game that finished 2-1 to the former Chelsea striker's side.

Zola was questioned on Cagliari's interest in Pavoletti after the match and replied: "Pavoletti? I do not know whether they [Sassuolo] want to talk to us!

"I must say that the players we still have now deserve great attention.

"We will have a think about what we do."
