Sol Bamba wants his will to win and aggressive mentality to rub off on his new Leeds United team-mates.

The Ivory Coast defender has linked up with the Whites on loan until the end of the season from Italian outlet Palermo, with the Championship outfit having secured the right to keep him on a permanent basis if he makes a positive impact.

Bamba already feels at home at Elland Road, explaining his new team-mates have welcomed him with open arms.

"I met with my team-mates, they were brilliant", he told his club's site.

"Everything is in place for me to try and help the team, try to do well and get up the table.

"It’s all good, I feel a positive attitude and a good spirit. Hopefully we will show that on Saturday.

"I’m very happy to be here. To feel the atmosphere in training and everything with my team-mates is like coming back home."

Bamba is now hoping that he can add something extra to the Leeds team and pointed to his never-say-die attitude and aggressive approach to the game as his strengths – attributes he wants to add to the side.

"I try to win as many challenges as possible. I’m aggressive and I hate to lose or concede goals.

"Hopefully I can bring that spirit and mentality to the team."

Bamba faces a fight for a spot in the centre of defence at Elland Road, with Jason Pearce, Giuseppe Bellusci, Liam Cooper, Scott Wootton and Dario Del Fabro all having designs on a starting place.
