Real Madrid’s latest acquisition, Lucas Silva, has revealed that he is ready to feature in their team if manager Carlo Ancelotti decides to use his services.

Silva, who was playing for Brazilian outfit Cruzeiro prior to his move to the European champions, was a target for Premier League outfit Arsenal, but Real Madrid have signed the in-demand Brazilian starlet.

In an interview with Madrid-based daily Marca, the defensive midfielder declared himself to be in great physical shape and keen to feature in Ancelotti’s team as soon as called upon.

“Yes, of course. Just now I was in the pre-season at my club, but I'm in great physical shape.

“I think I'll be ready for the manager after two training sessions to settle in, but I'll have to arrive, get down to work, and then the coaching staff will decide. I'm really keen to play.”

The 21-year-old expressed his excitement on becoming part of the reigning FIFA Club World Cup champions.

“Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world, but I feel up for the challenge and I'm really excited.”

However, Silva acknowledged the difficulty that lies ahead of him in order to break into Real Madrid’s first team, with the club being stacked with world-class players in all areas of the pitch.

“I know I'm going to a club where there's a lot of competition, who play in a very tough league and the Champions League, but I'm ready for all of that”, he concluded.

Real Madrid currently sit atop La Liga with 48 points and are scheduled to take on Real Sociedad in their next league fixture on Saturday.
