Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Roma over signing striker Mattia Destro.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be a big fan of Destro and is keen to bolster his attacking options at White Hart Lane by acquiring the Italian.

Serie A giants Roma are ready to part with Destro if the price is right, having lined up Shakhtar Donetsk forward Luiz Adriano as a replacement.

According to Sportitalia, talks between Roma and Spurs for Destro are ongoing and defender Vlad Chiriches, long on the Giallorossi's wanted list, could form part of any deal.

It remains to be seen whether an agreement will be found in the current transfer window to take the 23-year-old to north London, but Spurs are serious in their interest in the former Inter youth team star.

Roma snapped Destro up from Siena in 2012, with the forward tipped as the next big star of Italian football. So far this season he has clocked up 16 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi, scoring five goals.

At international level he has managed eight caps for the Azzurri and a single goal.
