Ahead of their League Cup tie against Liverpool to be played this evening, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that their first choice players will be back after being rested against Bradford City in Saturday’s fourth round FA Cup tie.

Mourinho’s side were handed a 4-2 defeat by League One outfit Bradford City after they let slip a two goal lead at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea drew 1-1 in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final tie played last week at Anfield.

Looking ahead to their second leg tie, the Portuguese said that he will give a chance to the players who deserve a start based on their performance against Bradford City.

“My team selections always have a relation to performances in training and performance in matches, so I analyse the Bradford game well and see which players deserve more to play”, Mourinho told the club site.

However, he further added that his first choice players who were rested on the weekend will make a comeback as the Londoners try to book a trip to Wembley.

“But obviously I rested some with the intention to play against Liverpool.

"It is easy to understand that [Nemanja] Matic, [Branislav] Ivanovic, Diego Costa, [Cesc] Fabregas and [Eden] Hazard, these players are going to play.”

Chelsea will host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final tie this evening, with the tie poised at 1-1.
