Borussia Dortmund are keeping a close watch on Andre Schurrle's situation at Chelsea with an eye on potentially moving for the forward to replace Marco Reus.

The Ruhr giants are fearful of losing Reus in the summer when a release clause in his contract kicks in, with a whole host of clubs, including Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid having been linked with moving to secure his services.

Dortmund are not standing idly by however and are already planning for life without Reus, with, according to German daily Bild, Schurrle on their radar.

Schurrle has been strongly linked with Wolfsburg this month, although the Wolves denied interest in the forward yesterday.

Nevertheless, Schurrle is thought to be unhappy with playing only irregularly at Chelsea and is eyeing a return to the Bundesliga.

Dortmund would be keen to offer the former Bayer Leverkusen man a new home, but may want to wait until the summer before making their move.

However, if Wolfsburg or another club launch a raid for Schurrle this month, Jurgen Klopp's men may be forced into action.
