Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre has revealed that their Europa League round of 32 tie against Inter Milan, scheduled to be played in February, is a fixture that their players are eager to feature in.

The defending Scottish Premiership champions are on course to secure their fourth league title in a row as they lead their nearest rivals Aberdeen by three points with a game in hand.




Izaguirre, who has scored two goals and assisted four in all competitions this season, has revealed that their Europa League round of 32 tie against Italian giants Inter Milan is a clash that Celtic players are eagerly anticipating.

“The Inter Milan game is one that we all want to play in”, Izaguirre told Celtic TV.
 


“We know how important it is, not only because we’re facing such a famous team, but also because it gives us the chance to qualify for the last 16 of the Europa League”, he explained.

However, the Honduras international acknowledged that Roberto Mancini’s men will provide a formidable challenge in Celtic’s quest for qualification to the next round.

“Our goal is to go as far as we can in this competition, and we know we will have to be at our very best against Inter Milan if we want to reach the next round.”

Celtic will host Inter Milan in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie on 19th February and will be aiming for a positive result ahead of the return at the San Siro.
