Fiorentina are hoping to encourage an auction between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea for winger Juan Cuadrado, with the player preferring a switch to Spain.

Chelsea are eyeing up the Colombian speedster as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is wanted by Roma. However, Jose Mourinho's men are at present refusing to meet the €35m release clause in Cuadrado's Fiorentina contract.

Atletico Madrid are now also looking at the situation and, according to Italian daily La Nazione, Fiorentina are keen to do all they can to encourage an auction between the two clubs, pushing the fee up towards the clause sum.

And all things being equal, Cuadrado is said to be in favour of heading to La Liga rather than the Premier League.

Fiorentina are ready to keep hold of the winger if a tempting proposal is not presented, however have declared they are prepared for all eventualities concerning the Colombian.

Club manager club manager Vincenzo Guerini explained on Sunday: "The risk of losing the player is there, but we as a club are prepared for any eventuality."

Cuadrado was strongly linked with both Barcelona and Manchester United last summer, but neither side were prepared to meet Fiorentina's valuation of the player.

The 26-year-old is locked down on a contract with Fiorentina until 2019, reflecting his status as a key player at the club.

So far he has six goals in all competitions for La Viola, with three assists.
