Real Madrid’s latest acquisition Lucas Silva insists that he will look to continue with the same playing style that earned him a move to the European champions when he turns out in La Liga.

Silva has been signed from Brazilian outfit Cruzeiro, where he played in midfield. The Brazilian was targeted by Arsenal, but Real Madrid secured his services.

Talking at a press conference following his unveiling at the Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder said he is a confident player, who is adept at playing long passes.

“I'm confident on the ball and I'm good at playing long passes too. I always try to ensure the team is well balanced.”

However, he admitted not being in touch with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to determine if he needs any adjustments to his playing style to adapt to life at the Bernabeu. But Silva added he will look to replicate his style at Cruzeiro that has served him well and eventually earned him his European move.

“I've not been in touch with the manager, so I don't know if I need to change anything about my playing style. I think I'll just be the same old Lucas I always have been, though.”

Silva further added that Real Madrid, who won four trophies in 2014, are playing extremely well and the onus is on him to break into the team’s starting eleven.

“I've seen a lot of games, but not everyone. The team is playing very well. They're top of the league and I'm joining to try and help the team to continue growing.”

Real Madrid, who currently sit atop La Liga with 48 points with a game in hand over their rivals, have a whole host of midfield options to pick from. And Silva has his work cut out to convince Ancelotti to give him a starting berth.
