Daley Blind was given an official farewell by Ajax in their derby game against Feyenoord on Sunday at the Amsterdam ArenA.

The midfielder joined Manchester United last summer from Ajax after an impressive showing with the Netherlands during the World Cup, answering Louis van Gaal's call.

The 24-year-old, son of former Ajax defender Danny Blind, started his career with the Dutch giants and made 143 appearances for the club before moving to England.

Blind, along with Toby Alderweireld, who joined Southampton last summer, were at the Amsterdam ArenA on Sunday to say their goodbyes to the fans.

Blind was happy to finally say his goodbye to the fans and thanked the club and the fans for their support during his stint at the Amsterdam ArenA.

“Had a great day yesterday at Amsterdam”, Blind wrote on Instagram.

“Too bad the game ended 0-0 but ‘Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cause every little thing, is gonna be alright!

“Thanks again Ajax and all great fans.”

Blind won the Dutch league title four times with Ajax under Frank de Boer and was named the Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2014.

The Dutchman joined Manchester United for a transfer fee of around £14m and signed a four-year contract with the club. He has, when fit, featured consistently under countryman Van Gaal.
