Marcelo Brozovic's agent has confirmed that his client was wanted by English duo Arsenal and Everton, along with Serie A pair AC Milan and Napoli.

The Croatia international has linked up with Inter in recent days, after Roberto Mancini's men used their good relationship with Dinamo Zagreb to win the race for the midfielder.

The race for Brozovic was fierce and agent Miroslav Bicanic admits that his client was wanted by several of the biggest clubs on the continent.

Asked if it is true that Arsenal, Everton, AC Milan and Napoli wanted Brozovic, the agent replied to Calcio Mercato: "Brozovic was followed by many clubs, yes.

"But now the important thing is just Inter", he added.

And Bicanic claims that his client is excited about his Inter adventure, while also confirming countryman Mateo Kovacic played a part in convincing Brozovic to choose the Nerazzurri.

"He is very excited, but he did not see it coming. He is very proud to take this step and focused on the pitch, ready to work.

"Yes [he talked with Kovacic]. He is great friends with Kovacic. The two have played together many times."

Brozovic made 26 appearances in all competitions for Dinamo Zagreb this term, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

He has landed at Inter on a two-year loan deal with an option to buy.
