Christian Eriksen has expressed his delight at Tottenham Hotspur reaching the League Cup final after they beat Sheffield United 3-2 on aggregate this evening, but admitted that Chelsea will want revenge for their recent league defeat.

In difficult and windy conditions, Eriksen put Spurs into control when he hit a superb free-kick into the back of the net in the 28th minute.

Spurs appeared to be heading to Wembley, holding the 1-0 advantage, 2-0 on aggregate, heading into the final 15 minutes of the match.

But 18-year-old Che Adams, on as a substitute, changed the game in the blink of an eye, hitting a quickfire double in the 77th and 79th minutes, putting Spurs on the ropes.

It seemed the semi-final would be heading to extra time, but Harry Kane produced a superb pass, playing Eriksen in with just two minutes left, the Dane slotting the ball home with ice cool composure.

Sheffield United could find no answer and Spurs booked a spot in the final against Wembley.

Eriksen was the match-winner, but was quick to admit after the final whistle that the Blades pushed Spurs hard.

He told Sky Sports: "Sheffield United definitely gave us a big fight. They gained confidence after they scored their first goal, the second one was a bit lucky, but we came back at the end.

"This season when we have been in front we have given stupid goals away and it is something we need to stop doing."

Now Chelsea are on the agenda and Eriksen knows the Blues will want revenge. However, he is relishing the clash.

"Chelsea will probably want revenge in the final, but I am really looking forward it."
