Liverpool could raid German football once again after being impressed with Emre Can, captured from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

The man on Liverpool's list, according to Sport Bild, is Hannover 96 midfielder Leonardo Bittencourt.

Liverpool have had the 21-year-old watched and have been impressed by his showings, leading the Reds to now consider making an attempt to take him to Anfield.

Bittencourt, a product of Energie Cottbus' youth set-up, joined Hannover from Borussia Dortmund in 2013 after struggling to break through with Jurgen Klopp's men.

However, Dortmund continue to rate Bittencourt and slapped a repurchase option in the deal; they continue to keep close tabs on a player who is now a regular for Hannover, clocking up 16 Bundesliga appearances so far this season.

Liverpool will need Dortmund to pass on their option to re-sign Bittencourt if they are to take him to Anfield and a fee of around €6m has been mooted as being sufficient for the Reds to push a deal through.

The midfielder is an Under-21 Germany international, having also represented his country at Under-19 level.
