Leicester City are stepping up their interest in Feyenoord midfielder-cum-forward Lex Immers.

Nigel Pearson's Foxes are firm fans of the 28-year-old, who moved to Feyenoord from ADO Den Haag in 2012.

Now, with the current transfer window ongoing, Leicester appear to be making their final checks on Immers.

According to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, Leicester scouts were present at the Amsterdam ArenA at the weekend to take in Feyenoord's 0-0 draw with rivals Ajax.

Foxes' talent spotters are expected to again take in a Feyenoord performance this coming weekend, when the Rotterdam outfit host Immers' former club ADO Den Haag at De Kuip on Eredivisie duty.

He is under contract at De Kuip until the summer of 2017 and it remains to be seen how Feyenoord might react to a concrete offer for the midfielder from Leicester.
