Saint-Etienne president Bernard Caiazzo has insisted that the club are not going to sell Swansea target Franck Tabanou this winter under any circumstances.

Swansea are looking for defensive reinforcement this month and had zeroed in on the former French Under-21 international as a potential transfer target.

It emerged yesterday that Swansea were moving quickly in the transfer market to secure Tabanou’s signature and were negotiating a deal with Saint-Etienne.

Though a crucial member of Christophe Galtier’s Saint-Etienne squad, the Welsh club were confident of sealing a deal for around £3m for the 25-year-old to welcome him to the Liberty Stadium before next Monday.

However, the Saint-Etienne president stressed that they are not ready to lose such an important member of the squad in the middle of the season and said that Tabanou is not for sale at any price this month, warning Swansea they will not get their man this month.
