Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has delivered an update on the fitness of his players ahead of their weekend Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger has revealed that he will have the same squad as for last weekend's FA Cup clash against Brighton on his hands as he looks for the Gunners to take all three points against Paul Lambert's men.

The Arsenal manager told his club's site: "The squad will be exactly the same as last Sunday."

However, Wenger does admit that a question mark at present hangs over in-form forward Alexis Sanchez, who is being troubled by his hamstring, meaning he will be assessed on Saturday.

"The only uncertainty we have is Alexis Sanchez who has a hamstring concern, and that will be decided on Saturday. He might be out for Sunday."

Elsewhere, Wenger welcomes a new arrival to his squad in the shape of Gabriel Paulista, a Brazilian defender signed from Villarreal. And he could make his debut, the Arsenal manager admits, following a physical check.

"The only [other] difference is that Gabriel is available and we’ll check him how he is physically, but he should be alright to be available."

Looking at players already injured, the Arsenal boss provided updates on Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

"Welbeck is very close. He is really, really, really nearly there. He will be available for the Tottenham game.

"They are not completely there yet but they are not far. Jack should join in normal training in 10 days. Welbeck on Monday. That’s where we are at the moment. Arteta a bit longer."
