Aston Villa and Hull City are vying for the signature of former Chelsea striker Demba Ba, according to the BBC.

Ba switched to Turkish giants Besiktas from Chelsea last summer and wasted little time in making an impact in the Turkish Super Lig.

So far the striker has hit the back of the net an impressive nine times in 14 Turkish league games, while he also scored three goals in Besiktas' Champions League qualifying campaign.

The goals have also flowed in the Europa League, with five in four games for the Senegalese.

Now Ba is being chased by two Premier League clubs desperate to add a prolific striker to their ranks before the winter window slams shut.

Besiktas vice-president Ahmet Nur Cebi claims to have bids from both sides on the table.

It remains to be seen whether Besiktas will decide to cash in on Ba, especially at a crucial juncture in their season.

The Black Eagles are in the thick of fighting for the Super Lig title, lying third at present, but just one point behind league leaders Fenerbahce.
