Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits he would like to "do one or two things" before the winter transfer window closes, but is unsure whether the quality of players he wants will be available.

With the window closing on Monday it is unclear how active Liverpool will be, as the manager has always claimed little will be done, but Rodgers admits he would like to do something if it is at all possible, even if he fears it will not be.

Rodgers told a press conference: "Every manager will always want more, but you can't pluck players out of the air.

"I would want to be able to do one or two things, but players are not always available and there aren't that many players who could come in and improve you.

"I always said it was likely we wouldn't do anything and that's probably going to be the case."
