Chelsea are evaluating their options regarding their move for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado and are even prepared to make Mohamed Salah the part of a deal to take the Colombian at Stamford Bridge.

It emerged yesterday that the Blues are preparing to pay the full release clause of €35m to take Cuadrado to England this month.

Jose Mourinho is personally overseeing the negotiations and is desperate to beat Manchester United, who are believed to be prepared to offer €29m plus Adnan Januzaj on an 18-month loan to Fiorentina, to the Colombian’s signature.

However, the club are taking a little more time than anticipated to make their final bid for the 26-year-old and are currently assessing other feasible options before they pay the full release clause.

According to Sportitalia, the Blues are thinking of making a bid of more than €20m and offering to make Salah, who is wanted by Roma, part of a deal to tempt Fiorentina into sanctioning the Colombian’s sale this month.

With only a few days left for the transfer window to close, Fiorentina ideally don’t want to sell Cuadrado, but if Chelsea pay the full release clause, they will have very little time to find a suitable replacement for the winger.

Though the Blues are ready to pay the full release clause, they are not shying away from exploring other options of taking Cuadrado to west London.
