Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wants Juan Cuadrado to be signed in time to feature against Manchester City on Saturday.

The Blues are close to snapping up the Colombia international winger from Fiorentina for a fee of around €33m, while Mohamed Salah will head the other way on loan until the end of the season with Chelsea picking up his salary for the duration.

According to Sky Italia, Mourinho wants to secure Cuadrado's signing in time for him to feature against Manchester City in Saturday's top of the Premier League clash.

Doing the deal with such speed may prove tough, however Chelsea are hoping to put Cuadrado through his medical paces tomorrow.

The deal would need to be done before midday in order for Cuadrado to be registered in time to face the Citizens, resulting in a race against time it may be difficult for Chelsea to win.

Cuadrado was chased by Barcelona and Manchester United last summer, but Fiorentina's reluctance to sell him for less than his €35m release clause saw both clubs back out.

Manchester United have been linked with rekindling their interest in recent days, however Chelsea now look to have all but wrapped up Cuadrado's arrival.
